Prince William Married Princess Catherine Middleton

I waited until early this morning to actually write this blog post as I sat and watched the royal wedding!  I really wanted all of my brides to get inspiration from the wedding today and what my predictions are from all of this fun British Royal Wedding 2011!

One thing is for sure, Princess Catherine Middleton truly picked an utterly timeless dress from Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Her bouquet consists of lily of the valley.  The alter decor was comprised of greenery, dendrobium orchids and vibernum.

Over the next few weeks we will see more of the royal wedding.  While I was at Bridal Market this Spring, the designer that really nailed it in her prediction of Princess Catherine’s gown was Monique Lhuillier.  While many designers were predicting lots of lace, out of all the designers, Monique truly captured the essence of what Princess Catherine’s gown would look like.  Here is a photo from one of the gowns from her Spring 2012 Collection:

How can you get the same look?  There are tons of designers right now that designing replicas as we speak!  Don’t copy Princess Catherine’s style….borrow bits and pieces ladies.  The use of lace can be used in so many ways.  Like the above photo on the veil.  Princess Catherine’s veil was not lace.  You can get earrings similar to hers that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

My favorite decor item were the beautiful trees inside Westminster Abbey.  The trees will be planted in May!  And by the way – just because Princess Catherine had a modestly sized lily of the valley bouquet – don’t mistake that for being inexpensive!  Lily of the valley is one of the most costly cut flowers to use in bridal bouquets in the world.  If you want lily of the valley – use it sparingly to save on floral designs costs.

Take a cue from Pippa, Princess Catherine’s sister, her white bridesmaid’s dress is a total do!  Yes – your bridesmaids can wear white.  Everyone will know you are the bride!

The next few weeks will be filled with more ideas on how to make your wedding feel royal!

Many congratulations to Prince William and Princess Catherine!
