Green Inaugural Ball 2013

Designing a green event from top to bottom begins with the simple concept of reducing your waste before you start the event.

This is what we specialize in!

Our zero waste concept started with food and ended with composting.  There were no fancy take aways from the event,  but everyone raved at how beautiful it was and the sweeping thoughts behind it:

Being Green is powerful, Being Green is now and always, Being Green can make for an amazing event!

The furniture was subcontracted by the Newseum from Fox Ventures.  Every single element was different in the VIP lounge from these couches made from crates to metal tables made from refurbished metals.

Our team designed the logo for the ball and the concepts behind all of the decor, lighting and greening efforts.  In the end, even the straws that were used for VIP drinks in jars were compostable.  We only had recycling bins and composting bins available!  The press noticed and raved about the concepts.

Green Inaugural Ball greening with cuisine

Not only did we green the event – we worked closely with the Newseum and Wolfgang Puck’s staff to create a menu that was flavorful and sustainable.  All supplies came from locally sourced farmed – no farther than a 300 mile radius from the Newseum itself.  Compost Cab carefully reviewed the prepping process and took care of any excess compostable waste at the end of the evening.

Over the course of this year – we will be showcasing more photos from the ball to go in depth at each element of greening as this event was certainly the pinnacle of what we do.  With National Wildlife Federation as our client – we knew that our greening efforts were our number one priority.  The event became a shining example of how to throw an amazing, colorful, grand + gorgeous event without hurting the environment.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more!
