As many of you know, I am gearing up for my trip to the Dominican Republic to help Haitian refugees.  I am going with a group of dedicated wedding professionals looking to make a difference in the lives of children that have been severely affected by the earthquake.

The above photo is of my very good friend Wendy with her daughter Gema. Some of you may remember my earlier posts about Gema and how both of these ladies are part of my life in several ways.  Wendy brought her daughter to the States (from the Dominican Republic) to help with her hearing problems and hip issues.  Wendy wants to help Haitians as well and she is going on the trip with us to Dajabon!

I am beyond excited and hopeful for this trip.  While it will be hard to be disconnected from my family and busy life here in the DC area, I just knew that I needed to help.  I want to thank all of you who have been so supportive.  Since we have a few photographers that will be on the trip with us – I am sure the whole entire trip will be well documented!  My blackberry may or may not work where we are going.  Elegance & Simplicity & Eco-Beautiful Weddings will still be run by my amazing staff while I am away – so no worries!  I will be back on April 2nd and raring to go for a weekend full of weddings.

While I am away you will see a few posts from the fabulous Janice over at the Bridal Wish List, Claudia for her MOB weekly article and Chris from The Man Registry.  I am loading up a few different posts for you while I am away as well.

I promise to post a recap of the trip and hopefully I will tweet a few photos – so if you are not following me on twitter – click here to have the latest updates!
