anthropologie latte bowls

So it’s my birthday today and if you know me…you know I love lattes and everything aqua!  Today – I am taking the day off to celebrate with my friends and my husband and to savor as much coffee and champagne that I can!

At the beginning of every year – everyone asks me what my resolutions are.  I don’t have any.  I don’t make lists and create a stressful environment of lofty goals that are not attainable.  I am an eco chic so I don’t have pretty instagram pictures of gorgeous and expensive day planners to write in as I don’t like to use paper.

So I try to tell people what my must haves are to make it a successful year every year.

Success – to me – is not about how much money I have made and how many goals I have achieved.  Success (to me) is:

– Making sure I can take care of my clients in the best possible way while being sustainable, stylish and eco-friendly

– Making sure I make time to take care of me through exercise + friends + family + fellowship

– That I can pay my bills and keep it moving every month

I don’t care how much money I make – I just want to take care of what is important – and no I am not going to use the hashtag #whatmattersmost to copy what everyone else says.  My main concern is just being me and to take care of my family, clients and my friends.  That’s it…I don’t worry about what everyone else is doing – which I think is the biggest pitfall for small business owners.  My best advice – just be you!!!

So – my “Must Haves”.  Here they are:

– Must exercise at least 5 times a week (hope for 6 each week).  If I am not healthy – I suck.

– Lattes – I have one every day!  They are my treat to me!

– My iphone – I keep track of mileage on my car, my photos, my children’s stuff and keep everyone up to date on social media apps

– Pinterest – It really is a great place for me to see what my clients like and inspiration for our new home

– My Workshop – yep, I love it!

I don’t collect a lot of things so my list is simple!

Enjoy this day with me and maybe rethink that “resolution” to just be you!
